Flick of the Week | 1.28.11

I love this picture. It was taken in DC, and made the front page of The Washington Post (although I saw it via Tosh.0). I feel like we could see this happen in Boston... a man running coat-less through snow with an ice cream cone.

It looks like it might be vanilla ice cream... Vanilla is not worth running for, so I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it is something more exciting like... coffee?

Either way, this is my favorite photo of the week! This may or may not become a regular topic on this blog.

Finding Shapes in Clouds: What do you see???

Are you like me? Do you gaze at the sky and see shapes in clouds and can you be distracted by these shapes for extended periods of time? Then check out klowdz.com. You can acually illustrate those shapes you see in the clouds to show people you are not crazy - there really is a crab shape in that cloud!!!

P2PU: School of Webcraft

I really like learning more about web development but don't have the time to fit in an actual structured, scheduled course to hone my skills. If you are like me, then you might really appreciate School of Webcraft.

School of Webcraft is an opportunity for those who want to learn more about certain applications to do so for free. Presented by P2PU, Anyone who wants to lend their skills and creativity to the cause of keeping the internet open is welcome to propose a course. It’s a chance to for everyone — not just software developers and testers — to get involved. Who? Teachers. Lawyers. Artists. Accountants. Plumbers. Web Developers. Anyone who uses and cares about the internet.

And it is a chance for those who want to learn, but have been hesitant due to limitations. Oh... and you can take these courses for free!

This semester's courses begin January 26. To see a list of classes available, and to apply, visit this link.

Need a crash course in HTML and CSS? Want to learn Python? Curious about Wordpress Development? Then now is the time for you to do something about it! Enjoy!

Oh, hi 2011.

Happy January! I don't have anything new to share so I thought I would share something old... one of my all time favorite pictures of one of my all time favorite people... Hillary!
